Tap water is safe (reverse-osmosis desalinated, meets EU standards) but tastes strongly of chlorine/minerals — almost everyone, locals included, drinks bottled. Ice, teeth-brushing and cooking are all fine.

Drive on the LEFT (ex-British). The island is small but roads are narrow, busy and parking is tight — many visitors skip the car and use Bolt/eCabs plus the ferries. On Gozo a hire car is more useful. Roundabouts go clockwise, give way to the right. Most hire cars are automatic.
English is an official language, universally spoken — no translation needed
