Driving

Drive on the right. Watch the ZTL (Zona Traffico Limitato) — camera-enforced restricted zones in almost every historic centre; drive in unknowingly and the hire car gets a fine weeks later. Autostrada tolls use Telepass lanes. Most tourists don't need a car in the cities.
